ABOUT MANUSCRIPT : | It is also known as Ikhtiyarat-e-Qasimi (اختیارات قاسمی) written in 1590 in the Persian language on the subject of medicine. It earned high prestigious value and has the status of a precious gem in the medical literature. In this book, he presented the Ayurvedic drugs and treatment also in an excellent manner. The book shows that the author has researched Ayurvedic medicine and compiled their characteristics in such a way that could be beneficial to other physicians.Contents:The book consists of a preface, three chapters, and a summary. Preface:The preface discusses theories related to Ayurveda, including Vata, Pitta, Kapha, and Tridosha, along with information on Rasapan, divided into nine sections.Chapter I:This chapter details 683 drugs, including various Unani and some Indian drugs, alphabetically listed with their names, identification, functions, and properties.Chapter II:Containing fifteen sections, this chapter offers selected and proven remedies for various diseases, including pound formulations like pills, tablets, Jawarishat, Muffarehat, tooth powders, oils, decoctions, drug powders, enemas, and syrups.Chapter III:With 160 sections, this chapter describes various diseases, their management, and classification according to their nature.Summary:The entire book is summarized comprehensively, highlighting common modes of cure in both Unani and Ayurvedic medicine.In essence, 'Ikhtiyarat-e-Qasimi' provides a glimpse into the common traditions of Unani and Ayurvedic medicine, reflecting the author's deep study and vast experiences.
