| ABOUT MANUSCRIPT : | Author Yousuf was the son of Mohammad ibn Yousuf al-Harwi, the author of Ainul Hayat. Both father and son came from Herat to India during the Mughal rule and significantly contributed to the propagation of Unani medicine in India.The 'Jami al-Fawaid' manuscript, also known as 'Tibb Yusufi' and 'Sharḥ Ilajul Amraz' (Treatment of Diseases), comprises various attachments. It serves as a commentary on different diseases and their treatment methods, organized into several chapters. Chapter one focuses on diseases of the head, chapter two discusses ailments of the eye, and chapter three addresses diseases of the throat. Additionally, chapter fifteen explores swelling of the liver, while chapter twenty discusses diseases specific to males. Chapter twenty-five covers miscellaneous diseases, chapter twenty-six deals with bites and stings, and chapter twenty-seven addresses fatal diseases, among others. Notably, Yusuf delves extensively into syphilis, briefly discussing its symptomatology as eruptions on the body and limb pains, but extensively detailing various remedies for its treatment.Another 1 copy of Jami al-Fawayid is also preserved. | ||
