ABOUT MANUSCRIPT :Ibn al-Ṭayyib authored numerous medical treatises, including important commentaries on the works of Hippocrates and Galen. Among his notable works is *Thimār*, a series of commentaries on the sixteen volumes of Galen's *Summaria Alexandrinorum*, which served as the foundation of the curriculum at the medical school of Alexandria. Additionally, his treatise *Risāla fī l-Quwā al-ṭabīʿīya*, a commentary on Galen's *On the Natural Forces*, sparked a rebuttal from Ibn Sinā (Avicenna), and the two works were often copied together, reflecting their significance in medieval medical discourse.Jawāmi al-Iskandaranīyīn is also known as‏ ‘The Alexandrian Summaries of Galen’ and Summaria Alexandrinorum. Originally written in Greek by Galen. Galen became particularly important during the Renaissance as a bridge to classical medicine. In the sixth century, medical scholars in Alexandria considered Galen's sixteen works the core texts for medical study. This manuscript is a summary of sixteen books compiled around 600 CE at the medical school of Alexandria. This summary of Galenic writings introduced the Arabs to the concept of Akhlat (humors), which came to dominate all medical and pharmacological theories. Academicians in Alexandria selected sixteen books of Galen as textbooks of medicine. These texts were translated from Greek into Arabic by Hunayn ibn Ishaq. These translations not only broadened the horizons of the Arabs with their actual content but also provided patterns of formal arrangement and scientific organization. It is among the rare manuscripts of the world only two copies are extinct and one is preserved in Ibn Sina academy Aligarh, another is in Aya Sofia Turkey
