ABOUT MANUSCRIPT :Sharh Mujaz al-Qanun is a commentary by Sadiduddin on the Mujaz, also known as Sadidi. Mujaz is an epitome of Ibn Nafis's al-Qanun and covers essential medical theories, diseases, diagnostics, and therapeutics. It is divided into four sections (Fann): Section 1: Discusses the basic principles of medicine. Section 2: Focuses on drugs and food. Section 3: Describes diseases specific to particular organs, including their causes, symptoms, and treatments. Section 4: Addresses diseases not specific to any organ, such as fevers. There are three notable commentators on Mujaz: Kazruni, Aqsarai, and Nafisi. Kazruni not only preceded the other two but also stands out for his clarifications and explanations of technical matters. His commentary on the principles of materia medica is particularly distinguished, making it a valuable textbook in Tibbi (Unani) schools. Kazruni meticulously researched Greek names and those of Unani physicians. For example, he writes about Asqalinaous, a Greek physicin who served as one of the royal physicians to Caesar of Rome and died when his boat capsized. Asqalinaous lived in the pre-Christian era, and in Greek sources, his name appears as Asqalibidus (Asclepiades)
