ABOUT MANUSCRIPT :Tafrih al-Qulüb is a Persian translation of Kitāb al-Adwiyah al-Qalbiyah by Ibn Sina, completed in 1015 AD. In this work, Ibn Sina describes 63 cardiac drugs, making it a significant contribution to the study of heart medicine. It is regarded as one of the most important works of Hakim Ahmad Ullah, who translated it into simple and accessible Persian. His translation effectively conveys the complete and accurate meanings of the original terms, demonstrating not only his mastery of Persian but also his deep understanding of medical terminology. Kitāb al-Adwiyah al-Qalbiyah is an independent work of Ibn Sina, distinguished by its medico-philosophical nature. In this treatise, Ibn Sina explores the relationship between psychiatry and heart diseases—concepts that would not be fully understood until nearly a thousand years later by modern medical science. His pioneering research on cardiac drugs places him at the forefront of this field. Due to its importance and widespread influence, the tre atise was translated into Latin twice: first by Arnaldo de Villanova in the early 14th century under the title De Medicines Cordialibus, and again by Alpagus in 1520 AD.
