| ABOUT MANUSCRIPT : | Tibb Akbar is an expanded translation of Sharḥ al-AsbābwalAlāmāt of Nafis Kirmani by Arzani with minor additions and deletions. Sharḥ al-AsbābwalAlāmāt itself is a commentary on the Book of al-Asbāb by Najib al-Din al-Samarqandi. The text focuses on the causes, symptoms, and treatments of diseases specific to particular parts of the body, arranged according to the names of illnesses, beginning with those affecting the head and including general diseases. The book is organized into a preface, 27 chapters, and a conclusion, with each chapter further divided into sub-chapters. Tibb Akbar is considered a highly useful and comprehensive reference for the treatment of diseases. The author's method involves first discussing the features, location, importance, and superiority of the body part affected by the disease. He then details the causes of the illness, followed by a description of its treatment.
