ABOUT MANUSCRIPT :Tibb-e-Feroz Shahi is a significant work in Unani medicine associated with the historical figure Firuz Shah Tughlaq, although there is some confusion regarding its authorship. Historical records suggest that Feroz Shah Tughlaq may have authored a book with this title, but it has since been lost. Another work by the same name, attributed to Shah Quli and written around 1281 CE, predates Sultan Feroz Shah's death by nearly a century. Hakim Syed Zillur Rahman discovered and meticulously compared two manuscript copies of this text, making corrections to the text where necessary. This book, although primarily focused on avian medicine, is one of the earliest works in the field of Unani medicine. It includes 125 medicinal preparations, with fifty of these medicines named using local terminology. The work is notable not only for its pharmacological content but also for its linguistic value, as it reflects the development of the Urdu language over seven hundred years ago. Thus, Tibb-e-Feroz Shai serves as an important historical document, offering insights into early Unani medicinal practices and the evolution of the Urdu language.
