This famous Arabic work ‘Uyun al-anba fi tabaqat al-atibba’ gives an overview on the lives of physicians and philosophers from antiquities to his lifetime including scholars from all religious groups not confined to Muslims. He was the last and most interesting biographer in a row of three biographical lexical on physicians. Ibn Juljul and Ibn al-Qifti were his main sources.
