ABOUT THE BOOK : | As per the author the original text was written by Sahadeva during his tenure of exile (Agnatavasa) under the King Viraṭa for the treatment of royal cattle. Based on this text Naranarya has written this text in Telugu poetic style. Telugu poems were given commentary and translation in Telugu prose. Disease names were mentioned in Telugu dialect along with symptoms of the diseases and multiple Ayurvedic treatments. Āyurvedic treatment for diseases like Diarrhoea, Indigestion, Neck wounds, obstruction of urine and faeces, wasting of legs, distension of abdomen, jaundice, limping of legs, skin diseases like scabies, cold along with dyspnoea; cough, dyspnoea, Jambukavata (a type of Neurological disease), Sandhivata (Osteoarthritis); cataract; watering of eyes; wounds of ears; snake bite; wasting of calves (Paladomma); Diarrhoea and indigestion of calf; dental caries; wounds and burns were described.
