| ABOUT THE BOOK : | Sushrutasamhita is a famous well known Ayurvedic text. It is one among the Brihatrayi. Present book contains Kalpasthanam of Sushruta samhita. It contains 8 chapters. This part is exclusive for toxicology. First chapter deals with poisoning of King, characteristic features of various types poisonous diets, poisonous anointing, poisonous ornaments etc. Second chapter deals with various Sthavaravisha (plant based poisons) based on plant parts like poisonous leaves, roots, latex etc. and their specific characteristic features, Dushivisha, treatment of various poisons are also explained. Third, 4th and 5th chapter deals with Jangamavisha (animal based poisons), adishthana like various types of snakes, their bites, characteristic features of their bites, treatments etc. Sixth chapter deals with rat, dog, jackal etc animal bites and their treatments.
