ABOUT THE BOOK : | Ashtangahridaya is a famous well known Ayurvedic text. It is one among the Brihatrayi. Present book contains Sharirasthana of Ashtangahridaya. It contains 6 chapters. Embryology, care of pregnant, description on semen, Arthava (menstrual fluid), Pumsamana karma, Garbhapata, Garbhasrava, Mudagarbha etc, are described in first two chapters. Various anatomical and physiological descriptions like detailed description of external and internal body parts, descriptions on Skin, various Asthi, Kala, Snayu, Peshi, Sira, Dhamani, Ashya, Srotas, their seats and properties are described. Various vital parts and consequences of their injury, Various Prakriti, various bad omens indicating bad prognosis etc are described in remaining 4 chapters.
