| ABOUT THE BOOK : | Bhava Prakasha is a famous well known Ayurvedic text. It is one among the Laghutrayi. Present book contains Purvakhanda, Madhyamakhanda and Uttarakhanda of Bhava Prakasha. First chapter deals with evolution of Universe and evolution of Ayurveda; Second chapter deals with various anatomical and physiological characters of human body parts, pregnant woman etc.. Third chapter deals with postpartum care and 4th chapter deals with daily regimen, seasonal regimen and other preventive and health promoting measures. Fifth chapter is Misrakaprakarana which describes many basic concepts of Ayurveda like about the physician, drug, properties of various drugs with different tastes, potency, post digestive effect etc. From sixth chapter onwards various groups of herbal mineral, animal drugs like Haritakyadivarga, Karpuradivarga etc are described. Various drugs in these groups are described along with their Rasa Guna, Viya, Vipaka, Dohik Action, indications etc. Madhyama has detailed descriptions of various diseases, their etiology, types, symptoms, prognosis, line of treatment, treatment with many herbal and herbomineral preparation etc. Each chapter deals with separate diseases.
