| ABOUT MANUSCRIPT : | Ganǰ-i Bādāward means 'the treasure brought by the wind'. It was named Ganj Badaward keeping in view the importance of a treasure which was the name of the treasure of Khusru. It is based on medical prescription, pathology, medicine, fundamentals of medicine and clinical experiences, and different surgical procedures, which certainly bears the status of a treasure. It is known from its preface that author had referred many important books like Ikhtiyaraat-e- Badiyie, Murkkabat-e-shareefi, Tibb-Jalali, Tibb-Faras, al-Qanun, Tibb-e-Ibrahim, Risala Chobchini, Zakhira Khwarazm Shahi, Kamil-us-Sana, Kifayah Mansoori, Tibb-e-Feroz Shahi, Khulasat al-Tajarib, Sihah al-Advia, Miftah al-Hudud, Al Hawi, Sharḥ al-Asbab wal-Alamaat. The entire book consists of three volumes. 1st is the introductory part which has detailed information regarding food and medicine. 2nd part is the main text which talks about diseases, compound formulations, and perfumes. Its conclusion is based on the properties and tm perament of the substances, description of minerals and planets. Some chapters are about weights and scales used in prescriptions for doses. 2nd part is about Tasum. 3rd part is about Qurat. 4th part is about Daanaq. 5th part is about Dirham. 6th part is about Misqal. 7th part is about Astar. 8th part is about Auwqiyah. 9th part is about Ratl. The 10th part is about Mann. The 11th part is about Kesaha and so on. The 12th chapter is about Sharbat (syrup) prepared from single and compound drugs, Sharbat prepared from single drugs, and Sharbat prepared from more than one drug are mentioned. Then a series of single drugs are mentioned with their uses and then compound drugs are described with their uses | ||
