ABOUT MANUSCRIPT :Alfaz al-Advia translates to pharmacological terms or pharmacological dictionary. It refers to the vocabulary and terminology used in medicine and pharmacology. This encompasses the names of various medicinal substances, herbs, plants, minerals, and their properties, as well as the terms used to describe different diseases, symptoms, and treatment methods in Unani medicine. Serving as a comprehensive vocabulary for practitioners of Unani medicine, it facilitates communication and understanding within the field. The treatise was dedicated to the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the first year of his reign. The title forms a chronogram, indicating the year of composition as 1038 AH (1628 AD). It is structured into three main parts:1. Preface (Muqaddamah): An introduction to the work.2. Alphabetical List: An alphabetical compilation of pharmacological terms.3. Conclusion (Khatimah): A section on early modern additions to the pharmacopeia, including substances like bezoar, bitumen (Mumiya'i), Ca root (Chob Chini), tea, coffee, and tobacco
