ABOUT MANUSCRIPT : | Mir Muhammad Masum bin Syed Safai Bakhri, also known as Syed Nizamuddin Mir Muhammad Masum Shah, was a sixteenth-century Sindhi Muslim historian from Bakhar, Sindh (modern-day Pakistan). Renowned for his historical writings on Sindh, he was also a trusted lieutenant of the Mughal emperor Akbar. Around 1595, he led Akbar's forces in a campaign against the Panni Afghans at the stronghold of Sibi in northwest Quetta, leading to the annexation of Baluchistan into the Mughal Empire. Subsequently, in 1598, he was appointed governor of Sind and Sibi by Emperor Akbar.The author of this book has provided abbreviations and summaries from Ikhtiarat Badiyi and other medical texts. In the introduction, the author states, 'Praise be to God, He is Great. After carefully considering the diverse benefits and complexities of various books on health, I found it challenging to review them comprehensively. Therefore, to aid students, I have condensed the information on mostly single drugs and a few compounds into concise and clear summaries, mentioning each drug in relation to specific diseases. The diseases affecting different organs from head to toe are listed. This compilation is titled Mufradat. Medical prescriptions for treating several diseases are detailed in a separate section.'Content: This book addresses the treatment of various diseases using a selection of simple Unani drugs and is divided into numerous chapters. Chapter 1 covers diseases of the head, Chapter 2 discusses diseases of the eye, Chapter 3 deals with diseases of the ear, Chapter 5 focuses on diseases of the face, Chapter 6 addresses diseases of the lips, Chapter 7 covers diseases of the mouth, and Chapter 8 discusses diseases of the teeth. The book consists of 26 chapters, each dedicated to a particular body part and its associated diseases and treatments, up to Chapter 22, which addresses diseases of the back, hands, and feet. Chapter 23 focuses on fevers and their treatments, Chapter 24 on various body diseases, Chapter 25 on animl bites, and Chapter 26 on miscellaneous benefits.
