ABOUT MANUSCRIPT :KitābTaqdima al-Maʻrifah is the Book of Prognostics by Hippocrates: This work with a commentary by Galen was translated from Greek into Arabic by Hunayn ibn Ishaq. It comprises three chapters, outlining the principles by which a physician can assess the stages of disease—past, present, and future. The text emphasizes that if the physician accurately describes the patient's past condition, the patient will gain confidence in the treatment. By correctly identifying the present state, the physician can apply suitable remedies, and by understanding the likely future course of the illness, they can take proactive measures to prevent further complications. The Prognostics of Hippocrates, translated from the original Greek with extensive annotations and explanations, was accompanied by a brief biography of Hippocrates by John Moffat, M.D. It was printed by T. Bensley in London in 1788 and later reprinted by James Eastburn, Clayton, and Kingsland in New York in 1819.Several commentaries have b een written on this book. One notable commentary
