ABOUT MANUSCRIPT :Mujarrabat Jamali is a comprehensive manuscript that details various compound drugs, including formulations such as Nuskha Ayaraj, Sharbat, Itrifal, Tiryaq, and Jawarish. The work highlights their applications for a wide range of ailments affecting different parts of the body, including the head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, lips, teeth, larynx, esophagus, throat, chest, and specific diseases of the heart, stomach, spleen, intestines, rectum, liver, kidneys, bladder, as well as conditions unique to males and females. The author, Hakim Jamaluddin, served as the court physician to Nawab Amirul Umara Behadur, the son of Nawab Amirul Hind Walajah of Arcot. Upon Nawab Amirul Umara's appointment as Governor of the fort "Nether Negar" (Trichinopoly), Hakim Jamaluddin accompanied him and provided medical care to both the courtiers and the common people of the state. He was a distinguished pupil of the renowned Hakeem Sikander Masihuz Zeman. Following the death of Nawab Walajah in 1796 A.D., Hakim Jamaluddin compiled this manuscript, naming it Mujarrabat Jamali. In this work, he included only those medicines that he had personally tested in his practice, presenting them in concise prescriptions. Overall, the Mujarrabat Jamali manuscript comprises a preface and 34 chapters. The preface features interpretations from the Quran and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad) that discuss various topics, including the heart and soul of mankind, the origin of life, and the internal and external senses of humans.
