ABOUT THE BOOK :Anjana Nidana, written by Agnivesha, it deals with panchalakshana Nidana of numerous ailments in 235 shlokas. Impact of Madhavanidana can be clearly seen and it more concise than madhavanidana. The following differences from Madhavanidana stand out: chaturdakajvara is said to pervade the body during fifty gatis, three viparyaya types of irregular fever are distinguished, , a type of fever arising from kshveda is discribed, laghu and guru types of fever are mentioned, sangrahani is distinguished from grahani, bhasmaka classified under agirna, vranamaya is added to the series of vaata diseases, medoroga is supplemented by svabhavadurbalata, vruddi classified into kurantaka and vardhma, masurika is said to occur exclusively in children, dhvajabhanga and other disorders of male sexual functioning are described. The opening and last verses identify Agnivesh as the author. The author's identity is still a mystery. The vast bulk of the sources argue that the work was created after the 11th or 12th century.
